DiSC is a behavioural assessment tool used to help people better understand their communication styles, work preferences, and interactions with others. It is one of the most widely used behavioural assessments in workplaces globally. and I love working with it because it provides a conversation framework rather than a definitive measure of personality
DiSC works by identifying observable behavioural tendencies — essentially, how people tend to communicate, make decisions, respond to challenges, and work with others.
Participants complete a short questionnaire where they respond to statements about their behaviours and preferences. The assessment then maps their responses across four behavioural dimensions:

DiSC focuses on behaviour, not deep personality traits. The idea is that behaviour is adaptable depending on context, environment, and role. It therefore provides a conversation framework for us to work on and develop the emotional intelligence needed in today's workplace.
DiSC team workshops creates a shared language around behavioural styles. We can map behavioural styles on an online platform, Catalyst, so teams can refer back and understand better how to approach decision-making, feedback, conflict, and teamwork with their colleagues.
